Australian Antarctic Festival | Win a Scenic Helicopter Flight Competition
Terms and Conditions
The Mawson’s Huts Foundation Limited (ABN 78 077 696 649), (The Promoter) is running a competition called “Win a Scenic Helicopter Flight”, being a competition of chance (The Competition).
Your entry and participation in The Competition is conditional upon your agreement to, acceptance of and compliance with the Terms and Conditions set out below (Terms and Conditions). The Promoter may at any time and in its absolute discretion refuse to award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- All relevant instructions on The Promoters’ website and signage at the Antarctic Expo form part of these Terms and Conditions.
- Headings are convenience only, and do not affect the interpretation of these Terms and Conditions.
WHO CAN ENTER?
- The Competition is only open to Eligible Entrants.
- An “Eligible Entrant” is an individual who is:
- Not an employee, officer, servant or contractor of The Promoter or Helicopter Resources (Tasmania) Pty. Ltd.
- Not a spouse, de facto spouse, parent, child or sibling (whether natural or by adoption) of such an employee or other person as described in clause 4(i) above; and
- 18 years or over.
COMPETITION ENTRY PERIOD
- The competition commences at 12:00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Saturday 24 August and closes at 3:00pm AEST on Sunday 25 August 2024 (Competition Period).
ENTERING THE COMPETITION
- An Eligible Entrant can only enter by completing an entry form and lodging it in the entry box at the Antarctic Expo at Princes Wharf No. 1, Hobart on 24 & 25 August 2024.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I ENTER?
- An Eligible Entrant can only enter once per day on 24 & 25 August (a maximum of two entries).
DETERMINATION OF COMPETITION WINNER AND THE PRIZE
- The Competition is a game of chance. A winner will be selected random draw at 3:30pm AEST on Sunday 25 August 2024 (The Winner).
- The prize draw will be conducted at the Antarctic Expo at Princes Wharf No. 1, Castray Esplanade, Hobart, Tasmania
PRIZE
- The Prize is a fifteen-minute helicopter flight for up to four people with Helicopter Resources (Tasmania) Pty Ltd . (The Prize)
- The helicopter flight is to be booked with Helicopter Resources (Tasmania) Pty Ltd between 9:00am and 5:00pm on weekdays up until 25 August 2025.
- The Prize is not exchangeable, transferable or redeemable for cash.
CLAIMING & REDEEMING PRIZE
- The Winner will be contacted by email and/or telephone
- The Prize must be claimed within 7 days of The Prize winner being notified otherwise The Prize will be forfeited.
- In the event that the Winner is unable to be contacted a redraw will be conducted in the same manner, and from the same pool of Eligible Entrants as the first draw.
- The Redraw Winner will be contacted by email and/or telephone within 48 hours of the redraw.
FORFEITURE AND RETURN OF PRIZES
- If an Eligible Entrant breaches their obligations under these Conditions or any agreement with The Promoter, The Promoter may determine that the Eligible Entrant has forfeited The Prize.
GENERAL
- The Promoter has the right to disqualify any Eligible Entrant that it deems to have cheated or not complied with the Terms and Conditions.
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and votes and reserves the right to disqualify any Eligible Entrant for tampering with the entry process.
- If for any reason the conduct or operation of The Competition is interfered with or disrupted in any way (including by vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes, computer bugs or viruses, tampering or technical failures), The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend or recommence The Competition.
- The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered, including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss, or for personal injury suffered or sustained during the course of accepting or using The Prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
- The Promoter assumes no responsibility for: (i) any error, omission, interruption, or delay in the operation or transmission of any communication sent to (or by) The Promoter or any Eligible Entrant, (ii) any theft, destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of such communications; (iii) any problem with, or technical malfunction of, any computer system or other equipment used for the conduct of The Competition; (iv) any incorrect or incomplete information which may be communicated in the course of the administering this Promotion (whether as a result of one of the foregoing causes or otherwise).

- By entering The Competition and claiming a Prize, the Winner agrees that The Promoter may use their name for publicity and competition purposes, without compensation, and agrees that The Promoter will own copyright.
- By entering The Competition and claiming a Prize, the Winner grants The Promoter and Helicopter Resources (Tasmania) Pty Ltd an exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide and transferable license (including the right to sub-license) for images, audio and video recorded when redeeming The Prize for promotional and marketing purposes, including online social networking sites.
- All of The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who The Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the competition. Errors and omissions may be accepted at The Promoter’s discretion. Failure by The Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
- If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.
- The Promoter bears no responsibility for events relating to or as a result of a scam or fraud account impersonating The Promoter’s page.
